Real Estate Law
Class
Introduction
The fundamental principles of real estate law have developed because of land's historic importance as a source of wealth. Many of the principles are difficult to group because they were formulated under different economic, social, historical and environmental conditions. The vocabulary is often antiquated and hardly part of our daily lexicon. To add to the complexity, attitudes regarding some areas of real estate law are shifting because of changing environmental and social perspectives.
To overcome these obstacles to learning, we have tried to write in a nontechnical style. We have provided key terms, review questions, and case studies to reinforce understanding. We have presented legal cases with a simplified statement of the facts, while at the same time preserving the accuracy of the dispute. We have included internet resources to help the student do further research and further clarify areas of interest. We have tried to anticipate future developments as outlined in the Changing Landscape sections at the end of each unit.
